A TRAGIC POEM
A short piece of Phantom poetry I recently wrote:  "Apollo Forsaken."  Note:  This poem has a stroke of realism to it, so I must warn you: it doesn't have a happy ending.

		Apollo Forsaken
		Crouched below the azure sky
		As mortal chaos hovered high
		Above the dark Parisien scene --
		A wavering world in between
		The sacred sky and solid earth.
		Scarcely fathoming her heart's worth,
		She halted not the words which burst
		Forth, filling her bewildred soul --
		Chilling sensations she should scarcely know --
		Before Heaven's burning gaze of fire.
		And softly crouched upon the Lyre
		His anxious heart would hence inspire
		New dreams of dread amidst the dark
		As torment played upon his heart
		Which suffered so to bear the pain --
		The wretched wounds of love in vain
		And scarce would suffer to beat again.
		Cruel pensées played upon the seams
		Of hope which weaved quixotic dreams
		Of innocent, altruistic love --
		Dreams shattered as he sat above
		The earthly souls who scarce would move
		From the realm of their reality --
		Such simple minds still could not see
		The truth beyond the world below.
		The earth enveloped the sun's warm glow;
		So sank the fantasy he did know.
		Forsaken hopes; mistaken dreams
		Perished with those golden beams
		And hence his hopeful heart was slayn
		By solemn tales of Love betrayn.
		His echoes plead in mournful song;
		Still hoped her love had not yet gone --
		Yet toward the earth, she thus had flown
		From the outstreached arms of Apollon.

"Simpsons" Phantom :)

This was done in July of 2000 when I was at my Grandma's house 'n felt bored having nothing much to do, so I sat down at an old computer and sketched this out with the old Windows Paint Accessory program (pardon my shaky hand!).
